Flash Exercise

So now that I have a Wacom tablet, I have been playing around with animating in Flash. This is just simple exercise I thought up in order to get experience working with the program. This is really my first shot working with it. I realize that the arms coming to rest at the end are a bit wonky, but I didn't find that a big deal since it was an exercise. Any further critique would be greatly appreciated.

There Once Was a Boy from Uganda

I hope this post finds all who read it well. This picture below is a little something that I have been working on over the summer. My family sponsors a boy from Uganda via an organization named World Vision. His name is Fred Bwambale. We received a letter from Fred which informed us that he enjoyed drawing (which was one of the only things we could read on the what remainded of the letter when it arrived. It looked like a pack of hyenas had attacked it). Since he enjoys drawing, I figured he might appreciate a drawing as a gift so I decided to draw him a portrait. I hope he enjoys it when it arrives (hopefully in one piece)!

Spring Quarter Creations

Although it may seem like I haven't posted anything in forever, the truth is....I haven't. So I figured it was time to show everyone what I have been up to this quarter. First we will start with my work from my Animation II class. The are mostly basic exercises, but my final was a lip sync which I suppose is slightly more complicated.

Now we will move from the world of computer animation to that of traditional. This video below is a special treat. This is my animation in progress for my Acting for Animators class. We started the class of by picking a monologue from the play. We then created a character based on the monologue and picked a sentence from the monologue. Now I am in the process of animating my character acting out that sentence. The characters name is Hubert and the sentence I chose is from the lunch monologue in the play "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." The voice accompanying the animation is not mine but a preforming arts graduate student's (we collaborated with them and did voice recordings).

My! What Nice Digital Form!

This is some work from my Digital Form, Space, and Lighting class. These first few photos are of a project called "Life is Like a Bosch of Chocolates." With this assignment we had to combine our Bosch models (models we made during the first half of the quarter based off images from paintings by Hieronymous Bosch. I will post those later) with a scene from the movie "Forrest Gump."

These are images from another portion of my final. I created a biographical set for a famous character. I chose to create a set for Mozart. While viewing these photos, feel free to listen to "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik." I find it helps set the mood.

Work from Animation I

These are some of the assignments I did while taking my Animation I course. Not all of the assignments are shown because I forgot to convert some of them to avi's, but they will be posted later. I feel the assignments are pretty self-explanatory but if you have questions, feel free to comment and ask. Enjoy!

Rubber Ball

Weighted Ball

Sliding Pendulum

Frog Side Step

Walk Cycle

This is my final for Animation I; the flour sack! There is a box in the lower right hand corner that is kind of hard to see. I might upload a better version later.

My New Blog

Hello Blogging World! I have just set up a new blog in order to keep everyone up to date on what is going on with me while I am away at college. I will hopefully be consistently posting new works I have created so everybody can see what I am up to. In the mean time, I will hopefully be getting a website up soon so look for that in the future.
